12th #InternationalDayOfYoga was celebrated across #NorthernCommand with great zeal and enthusiasm.
From the frozen heights of #Siachen, the serene landscapes of #Ladakh to picturesque places along the #LineOfControl and the #Hinterland, the troops and their families participated in immersive #YogaSessions. Embedding #Yoga in their fitness routines, the troops continue to practice Yoga for overall physical fitness and mental well-being to stay healthy throughout life.

Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, #ArmyCdrNC, visited the forward areas of #KiloForce and #Baltal to review prevailing security situation and evaluate the operational preparedness of troops deployed for #OpSHIVA2026.

During the visit, he was briefed on the current security environment, measures undertaken to strengthen vigilance and operational readiness of troops. Interacting with commanders and troops, the Army Commander underscored the importance of sustained alertness, effective coordination, and mission-oriented execution to remain prepared for all challenges.

The Final Battle of Tololing remains one of the defining moments of the Kargil War. Displaying extraordinary courage, grit and determination, the soldiers of 2 RAJPUTANA RIFLES fought against formidable odds to recapture the strategically vital Tololing feature, paving the way for subsequent victories during Operation Vijay.

On this day, we remember the supreme sacrifice of Major Vivek Gupta, MVC(P), Subedar Bhanwar Lal, VrC(P), Company Havildar Major Yashvir Singh, VrC(P) and Havildar Sultan Singh Narwaria, VrC(P), whose valour, leadership and devotion to duty continue to inspire generations.

The camp, being organised from 13 Jun to 19 Jun 2026, has brought together 61 children in the 10–14 years age group, from across the region. The camp aims to inculcate #TeamSpirit, #Leadership and #SelfReliance through a series of adventure and outdoor activities. The ultimate aim of this event is to shape the younger generation to become #Responsible and #Confident citizens contributing towards the #National mission of #ViksitBharat.

On this day, 18 GRENADIERS secured a vital foothold on the Tololing Complex. We salute the bravehearts whose dauntless courage and resolute leadership made it possible to achieve the impossible.

The supreme sacrifice and unwavering commitment of Lieutenant Colonel R Vishwanathan, VrC (P), Major Rajesh Singh Adhikari, MVC (P), Subedar Randhir Singh, VrC (P) and Havildar Ram Kumar, VrC (P) played a pivotal role in the capture of Point 4590, paving the way for the subsequent capture of Tololing—a turning point in Operation VIJAY.

At Point 5299, courage echoed louder than enemy shelling. Under the leadership of Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat of 4 JAT and Capt P V Vikram of 141 Field Regiment, operations were launched to secure the strategic height despite intense enemy fire.

In the line of duty, Capt P V Vikram made the supreme sacrifice, while Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat was critically injured. Their courage, sacrifice and devotion to duty remain a timeless testament to the spirit of the Indian Army.
