I'm ***mostly*** satisfied with Plasma Mobile, but it all feels like re-scaled desktop design with zero concern for actual mobile usage. GNOME is probably more touch friendly.

Does anyone have any opinions about Phosh? Or any other Linux mobile shells? Plasma Mobile is an abhorrent experience, *clearly* not designed for a phone at all.

NixOS booting on an S9+ with Plasma mobile *almost* working. The joy I got from booting this thing without errors was akin to defusing a bomb successfully

@abzal_orazbek I considered. Would *probably* work, but there are two issues:

1. I still need to write a shell for it. Statusbar, window switcher, etc.
2. Hyprland's performance on mobile devices has been poor as far as I'm aware.

@pgattic1 Oh I gueess it goes by "Nura" now. Nevertheless their docs at https://t.co/4OBhfIbb0m told me it *mostly* works so I just worked on it. Had to patch the kernel myself to get Wi-Fi working. Still need to get calls working somehow if I want to use it.

@pgattic1 Truth be told I'm mostly piggybacking off some existing work. Most of the work I did was to port all the kernel patches I confirmed working to 6.x and getting GPU/audio/haptics working over the past 1-2 weeks. Audio sucks, CPU is limited, and haptics are... there... but it works!

@_numinit The phone was still running Android before I decided to torture myself, but it was relatively easy work to flash TWRP to the recovery partition using Heimdall once I enabled OEM unlocking
