Man I’m genuinely so proud of what we’ve accomplished with Lucky 7s

I wrote this loose project plan for the project in late 2023.

We’ve always believed that the community needed a central, trusted group that can execute in all areas: Events, technology, player sponsorships, and soon: content. A group that is independent, grassroots, and passionate about re-investing its success back into the scene.

The economics change when you have a group who truly enjoys this work and has no investors to answer to. The community does have money they want to spend, and when we learn there’s a group who can be trusted to multiply that value back into the scene, I do think we can become the first long term sustainable Melee org with S tier execution in all categories that can exist as a strong backbone for the scene for the good times and bad.

Thank you to everybody who’s trusted us and supported us, I don’t take the responsibility lightly. The community has been burnt so many times.

From early day discussions with @0degreewaveland and us chatting in 2022 about feeling we could do it, but thinking the barriers were too tall to climb and then @plushVG joining the team before we even really got started.

To @spotdodge_shine and @ossify37 letting us kick off the org by sending them to Genesis X and @Freezus304 being our first full time sponsored player.

To all of the Steven’s Melee supporting our grand efforts and participating in Breakfast’s early rendition Full House tournaments and @nycmelee for being such a supporting and innovative scene.
