New in Notch 2026.2: Custom Shaders
Use the Custom Shader Effector to transform, colour, and modify clones in a cloner system. This scene moves, scales, and loops the clones using custom shaders to make an infinitely moving pattern. We also use custom shaders to control the distribution of the clones and balance the spawn rate of each clone in the cloner system.
Head to the Launcher for the sample scene, and try it for yourself!

New in Notch 2026.2: fully interactive Gaussian Splats.
Imported objects and environments can be lit, reflected, and cast shadows, sitting naturally alongside any other element in the production. In this sample, we used a splat of a library cafe with a few 3D objects dropped inside to show it in action.
Grab the sample scene from the Launcher and try it for yourself.

“Celestia strengthened the bridge between creative vision and technical execution. It pushed us to become more agile, more precise, and more integrated as a studio. Notch was key to this, giving us a much more flexible and responsive way to work and helping us fine-tune the experience in real time. It was an absolute blast to create!”- Julien Lassignardie, Notch artist at @NormalStudioMTL on their team's work on Celestia.

"Notch’s real-time workflow largely eliminated the project’s biggest challenge: maintaining performance with high-polygon 3D scans and large-scale field systems while iterating quickly in a limited timeframe. Pushing systems to new limits with Notch’s evolving tools in every project has always been an exciting part of the process for me," says Cigdem Ecevit, Notch Designer at Illusionist Digital Arts Studio, about their work for the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
