Won't be too long now...teams continuing to sharpen their skills at Wakefield and another good slate of games scheduled for next weekend...

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

Heritage now in a similar rock fight as it had with Woodson, now with South County. Pride lead at half, 23-21...

Fairfax lost big Mike Malarkey to transfer, but gained combo guard Jack Colligan from PVI.

So, you might see the Lions play faster this year...thats what they're doing right now, leading Woodbridge 25-2 early.

Colligan (below) has two threes, sharpshooter Gavin Bermudez three...

Forest Park-Robinson a good midday matchup now--both teams feature promising sophomore bigs.
The Bruins' guards are tough when they lock in defensively. Rams doing a great job cpntaining them so far though, lead 14-10 early.

Big man Carlos Salinas Rivera the "X-factor" for Woodson this year, and well, that's a game-winning three from him. Cavs defeat Heritage 47-46 on his three...big confidence builder for Woodson.

Good one going on between Heritage, perhaps NOVA's top public school going into this season, and Woodson. Cavs lead 23-22 at half--here recent Washington-Lee commit Brady Conklin the fast beak bucket...

Yorktown boys looked impressive in dismantling Annandale this morning. Front court combo of James Davis (bruiser) and Garon Carcillo (shooter) looks pretty prime. Carcillo looks like he's grown, maybe 6'6" now...

Here at Wakefield for a little Fall Ball. A lot of two-a-day games and teams idle because of VHSL rules, but here to learn what we can learn...

Action continues this weekend on the guys' side in the Wakefield Fall League...

@DCSIGMA95 Not bad but a lot of work to do...but, it's Fall League

Saw a good one between the Edison ladies and West Springfield yesterday.

Dianne Lewis' Eagles prevailed, but there's definitely news off the court:

Longtime assistant and WS alum Triahna Harris takes over as interim coach, replacing coaching legend Billy Gibson at the school...

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

Gibson has around 850 career wins in his storied career...

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

@TimJone15999582 No, probably in a couple weeks

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

Wandered over to West Springfield for some girls fall ball. South Lakes has some intriguing young (freshman and other) talent, and it's great to see the talented Olivia Ferguson back on the court for Stafford...

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

Wasn't kidding about South Lakes' young talent...freshman Carly Mendelsohn of South Lakes had like 17 in the first half as the Seahawks lead by two possessions at halftime over a very solid Stafford team.

[Novahoops.com @novahoopsCom]

All right, let's get this year going, https://t.co/LM2e3qiwTs's tenth. Time to do some work and start checking out Fall League games.
