NEW from me: The US is pushing a divisive proposal at the UNSC to expand an arms embargo across Sudan, part of an increasing pressure campaign on the warring parties
Missing from the strategy is increased pressure on the external actors fueling the war

In the US women representatives have been murdered, threatened, had their cars vandalized, stalked, and raped. When will the American political leadership and the public fully reject & condemn this violence on women in power? https://t.co/7Eilc2fXSs
SCOOP: The US has backed off a proposal for an arms embargo on Sudan bc of divisions at the UN Security Council. A vote on a short-term extension (for the 2nd time) of the Darfur arms embargo will take place on Thurs as negotiations continue

We are approaching a full year since journalist Muammar Ibrahim was abducted by the RSF militia, and his fate remains unknown. Nearly a year deprived of his freedom and the right to communicate with his family. A year of silence, a year of unanswered questions. Where is the world that claims to stand for press freedom?!!!!
I just landed on an article with byline:"By The Washington Times AI News Desk."
Please note the threat of rogue AI Agents working to bypass human overseers (already happening) that also use their control of the media as a tool.
🤯 Will someone in the UN leadership explain to the director-general of the @FAO that human rights are one of the UN’s 3 main pillars, not some throwaway add-on? He reportedly fired a senior UN FAO official for “playing” human rights on #Gaza.

Trump administration refuses international election monitors for first time in over 2 decades.
The decision not to invite observers from the OSCE puts the U.S. alongside Russia and Belarus, while the Justice Department prepares to deploy its own poll monitors.

While this platform showcases the loudest, cruelest immigration actions, let us hold up the supportive, caring actions Americans supporting their Haitian neighbors now.
"The Bulwark has raised more than $430,000 for the Springfield Haitian Community Help and Support Center. The money raised will go toward legal help, food, medication, transportation and rent for Springfield Haitians."

Children living safely with families are being picked up by ICE and referred to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which places them in shelters or foster care.
These shelters were designed for new arrivals, not settled kids, and the children are struggling badly. https://t.co/i8k5CZGyCW
The UAE is pushing its candidate to be UN Secretary General even as the UAE funnels arms to the RSF militia in Sudan as it commits mass murder and mass rape, and by some accounts, genocide. Really, UAE? UN values?
ICE has now spent roughly $3.2 billion to purchase seven different detention centers from private prison companies, each of which will continue to be operate by those companies as if nothing has really changed.
This is huge! Very significant. Not only the additional arrest warrants which are significant but also the analysis of persecution on the grounds of gender and its application to the policies and practices of the Taliban.

ICE is now separating children from their parents in the nation’s interior and deeming them “unaccompanied.”
"We’re talking about kids who have a mom, a dad, and siblings who want them to be living with them." https://t.co/urIIfzPDX6
Heartbreak in Springfield, Ohio. Please read this important reporting. It all begins with big lies and it ends with ethnic cleansing and deaths for which we must not only mourn but feel ashamed.

Burial service held for 20-year-old Haitian student who took his life in Springfield, his family says it happened after he was fitted with an ICE ankle monitor.
Hundreds gathered Saturday in Springfield, Ohio, for the funeral of Pierre Damas Bel, 20.
The Haitian immigrant and Wright State freshman was struck and killed Aug. 31 after he parked on the shoulder of I-70 westbound and walked into traffic.
After Haitian temporary protected status ended, ICE fitted him with a GPS ankle monitor. His father said Bel felt humiliated, told him classmates called him a criminal, and called that morning saying he was not okay because of the bullying.
Service was at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church. Family, friends, and officials attended.

Unexplained shootings; 6 killings; virtually no accountability; masked agents; unprecedented # of arrests; huge budget; new role in mid-term elections; funds used to cut political ads celebrating the President. My comment in the @newyorker on D.H.S.: https://t.co/bClPb8IT1Q
Kids in cages is back and spreading, no accountability to Congress or humanity, no changes actually in policy that equals same rights violating results, one thing is a constant, DHS agencies are cruel and lack oversight and humane rules
🚨New ICE facility for unaccompanied migrant kids is about to open in Louisiana. ICE is sanitizing optics, calling it the "Alexandria Family Staging Center." Lawmakers, child advocates are raising the roof warning of child trafficking risks.
