The President Of Kenya must make a deliberate decision to permanently address the tax justice issues and put his money where his mouth is when it comes to corruption!!!!
I hope BBI is going to address matters of tax justice, our leaders have negotiated us into the mess that we are in right now…are our interests on top of the table or is someone else going to be benefiting? ~ Stella Agara #AMLiveNTV@MarkMasai
Kenya see your President!
Does his team research before getting into such deals? Pfizer& this Bourla man have been mentioned adversely in Senate hearings in the US &inquiries at the Hague for promoting their COVID19 vaccines& hiding evidence that it was causing miscarriages❓
Today, Kenya has made a major breakthrough in the treatment of several cancers following the signing of a consequential agreement with Pfizer, a United States multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation.
Consequently, prices of medicines for the treatment of breast, stomach, colon, lung, prostate, oesaphagus, leukaemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma cancers have reduced remarkably by more than 7 times.
In some instances, the cost has reduced from as high as KSh1 million to less than KSh50,000 per cycle. The impact of the agreement between Pfizer and the Kenya Medical Supply Authority (KEMSA) - titled Accord for a Healthier World - will make the KSh800,000 Social Health Authority (SHA) cancer package fully adequate without additional cost to patients.
Additionally, Kenya will access newer medicines without the 10-year wait that cancer patients are currently subjected to.
As the African Union Champion for Local Manufacturing of Medical Commodities, I am proud that Pfizer is making available these technologies and newer medicines for local pharmaceutical production in the continent.
Grateful to have received Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla at State House Nairobi. He was accompanied by Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Nairobi Carla Benini, Medical Services Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga and Pfizer officials.
Thanked Pfizer for the wonderful work it is doing in Kenya and the impact it is making. We will continue working together to strengthen our Universal Health Coverage.
@WilliamsRuto Really? Pfizer? Does your team ever research before you get into such deals???? Pfizer & this Bourla man have been mentioned adversely in Senate hearings in the US and inquiries at the Hague for promoting their COVID19 vaccines & hiding evidence that it was causing miscarriages❓
Sweden is officially trading screens and tablets for physical books and handwriting to reverse a decline in reading skills.
Once at the forefront of hyper-digitalized learning, Sweden is engineering a dramatic pivot back to the basics in its classrooms. Concerned that an overreliance on digital tablets and screens has eroded reading comprehension and foundational writing skills, Swedish education officials are investing heavily in traditional printed textbooks.
The national strategy aims to phase out digital devices for children under the age of six entirely, following a drop in international reading assessment scores.
Experts point out that while technology was championed to level the playing field, its unrestricted use has instead led to shorter attention spans and reduced retention among younger learners.
Scientific evidence strongly supports this retro transition. Research indicates that the physical act of handwriting activates complex neural networks governing motor skills, vision, memory, and language—cognitive benefits that are largely lost on a keyboard.
Furthermore, reading from a printed page provides critical spatial cues that aid comprehension, unlike digital screens that often subject students to cognitive fatigue and constant distractions. While computers and tablets remain valuable tools for research and collaboration, educators worldwide are watching Sweden's massive reinvestment in physical books as a potential blueprint for a more balanced, science-backed approach to modern schooling.

THE PEOPLE MUST NOT REPAY ILLEGAL DEBT
Kenya’s people cannot be made to repay every loan simply because someone signed a document in the name of the Republic.
Before taxpayers are asked to pay, we must ask basic questions: Was the borrowing lawful? Were the constitutional and statutory procedures followed? Where did the money go? What was it used for? What public benefit did it produce?
And where #odiousdebt is alleged, we must ask what the lenders knew, or reasonably ought to have known.
Public debt is not a blank cheque. The Constitution, the law and the Kenyan people must come first.

A law that gives the regulator your usage patterns and strips away your anonymity is not primarily a consumer law. It is an instrument of surveillance wearing a consumer-protection T-shirt.
The International Commission of Jurists has already warned that poorly implemented consumption-based billing can both raise the cost of access for the poor and create a monitoring apparatus ripe for misuse.

Finance Act 2026 has given KRA an enormous amount of power.
Starting January 2027, KRA won't wait for you to tell them your income for 2026.
The Act has empowered KRA to use any information available to it to tax a taxpayer. This includes:
• eTIMS sales data
• eTIMS purchase data
• Withholding tax records
• Customs records &
• Other third party information
So starting in January 2027, KRA shall tell you first what income it believes you earned in 2026, what expenses you incurred in 2026, and what tax you should therefore pay.
KRA shall then send you this as a draft return by 31 January 2027.
Once you receive it, you have 60 days, or 2 months (February and March), and only 2 options:
• Accept the draft return if you agree with it. Or,
• Reject it if you think KRA's numbers are insane, and provide your own sane figures for amendment together with supporting documents.
After KRA's approval, you will then use the accepted or amended figures to file your income tax return.
If you do not reject or amend the draft return, or you submit your amendments on day 61, KRA shall conclude that you have agreed with its initial tax estimates.
You will then have to pay the KRA generated tax bill.
• Lesson.
- Bookkeeping is King. Don't wait to become helpless in 2027. Keep your own records.
KRA's numbers are not always born again.
There is something deeply wrong with a system where a Kenyan can work hard, run a business, employ people, pay rent, salaries and dozens of other taxes, then still live with the fear that KRA could freeze an account or go after property over the Housing Levy.
Government has every right to collect lawful taxes, but that power must have limits. The Constitution protects property, demands fair administrative action and requires taxation to be fair. Nobody should have their livelihood crippled without proper notice, due process and a real chance to challenge what the State says they owe.
You cannot tell Kenyans to start businesses, create jobs and grow the economy, then threaten to shut those same businesses down through aggressive tax enforcement. That is not how you build trust between citizens and government.
Housing may be a constitutional right, but financially suffocating people in the name of funding it should never become normal.
Workers, traders and employers risk bank account freezes, asset seizures and PIN deactivation as the Kenya Revenue Authority prepares to launch a crackdown on Housing Levy defaulters. https://t.co/GHqur4Go5W
WAKE UP, KENYA. 🚨
The Ruto government quietly handed KRA a loaded gun.
The Finance Act now lets them treat unpaid housing levy exactly like unpaid tax.
That means they can freeze your bank account overnight, kill your PIN, seize money straight from the bank, ban you from travelling, and attach your property, all over the 1.5% housing levy.
They’ve already taken over Sh200 billion from salaries since 2023. Yet the Housing Fund Board itself admits more than Sh100 billion is still “missing.”
Employers deducted it from broke workers and never remitted it. Informal traders never paid. An Auditor-General report even exposed 6,390 companies paying PAYE but completely skipping the levy.
Housing PS Charles Hinga confirmed it: KRA now has the “greater bite” they demanded and will start reconciling and coming for the money.
This doesn't look like enforcement. This looks like economic warfare on ordinary Kenyans.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has formally appealed the High Court judgment upholding his ouster, arguing that the judges erred in declaring his removal irreversible even after finding that the Senate violated his constitutional right to a fair hearing.
Lenders beware: Kenya’s High Court has greenlit our petition challenging US$54bn in odious debts under Kenyatta & Ruto.
No parliamentary approval. No public benefit. Offshore siphoning.
Kenyans WILL NOT repay what they never authorised. Accountability MUST be restored. #OdiousDebt #DeniBandia

We have moved to the High Court to put an end to an unacceptable illegality that continues to bleed our country dry.

This graphic highlights a reported bug in Safaricom’s new My OneApp (the merged M-Pesa + MySafaricom app).
Users say that when sending KSh 58,000, the app automatically changes the recipient’s details — e.g. the name stays similar but the number switches to a different one before confirmation. This matches other glitches reported since the app’s rollout earlier this year.
**Risk:** Money could go to the wrong person.
**Advice:**
• Use the reliable *334# USSD code for now.
• Always double-check the exact number + confirmed name before sending.
• Report the issue to Safaricom with screenshots.
Safaricom should investigate and fix this urgently.
The Asymmetry of Rights: There in no Equality Before the Law for the IMF
1. Section 5 of the Bretton Woods Agreements Act of 1963, as read with the Schedule to the Act, creates an impermissible asymmetry before the law. Fund Agreement Article IX, Section 2 gives the IMF full juridical personality, including the capacity “to contract,” “to acquire and dispose of immovable and movable property,” and “to institute legal proceedings.”
2. However, Article IX, Section 3 then provides that the Fund, its property and assets enjoy “immunity from every form of judicial process,” except where the Fund expressly waives immunity.
3. The result is a one-sided legal relationship:
-The IMF can sue Kenyans in Kenyan courts.
-Kenyans cannot sue the IMF.
-The IMF can contract, own property, and enforce rights in Kenya.
-Kenyans cannot enforce rights against the IMF.
4. This asymmetry offends the constitutional principle of equality before the law. Article 27(1) provides that “Every person is equal before the law and has the right to equal protection and equal benefit of the law.”
5. Equality before the law is not satisfied where one legal person may invoke the protection of Kenyan law but is placed, by ordinary legislation, beyond the reach of constitutional scrutiny.
6. A statutory regime that allows an international institution to sue, contract, own property, and enforce rights in Kenya, while denying affected persons and constitutional organs effective access to judicial process, creates a one-sided legal relationship that cannot be justified under the Constitution.
