The President’s EO on vaccines last week was based on politics, not science.
There is no new evidence. No new law. No separate MMR vaccine.
So @nycHealthy pediatric vaccine guidance hasn’t changed.
I joined @PIX11News to explain what this EO changes for families.
Nothing.
We have seen a decline in new cases of cyclosporiasis in NYC in recent weeks.
New Yorkers should continue to take precautions including washing hands often, cooking food whenever possible, and washing fresh produce thoroughly under clean, running water: https://t.co/4B0PBuaPpy
This NYC Nonprofit Week, I visited and toured the East Harlem Council for Human Services. The Council serves the East Harlem community and provide fully bilingual and culturally competent services. Thank you for sharing about the work you do for the residents of El Barrio!
The steps to protect yourself are simple: wear insect repellent, cover up during dawn and dusk, and get rid of standing water around your home. All New Yorkers should take these precautions seriously, especially older New Yorkers and those with a weakened immune system.
West Nile virus is spread by mosquito bites and cannot spread from person to person. The good news is it’s preventable. With mosquito season in full swing, we’re encouraging New Yorkers to take extra precautions to minimize the risk of mosquito bites.
A person who lives in NYC has contracted West Nile virus after spending time outdoors in areas in New York City and several locations outside the city. With peak mosquito season here, New Yorkers should take precautions to prevent mosquito bites: https://t.co/iVFU9J5TvP

We continue to monitor for anyone who may have been sickened, including one person who remains hospitalized. Our investigation continues as we analyze samples collected from cooling towers and patients.
I’m saddened to share that 2 more people have died in connection with the UES Legionnaires’ disease cluster. We mourn each loss, and our hearts are with their loved ones. These cases were diagnosed weeks ago, and the source has been eliminated.
Thanks to aggressive remediation, no one has been diagnosed or reported new symptoms in over three weeks, and people in the area are not at increased risk of exposure. But the Health Department’s work is not done.
By continuing to monitor neighborhood air quality over time, we’re helping to ensure that decisions affecting our city are informed by strong health data.
This report gives us the clearest picture to date of how air quality has changed during the first year of congestion pricing, and we now know that air quality across New York City was not any different because of congestion pricing.
Today we released our first comprehensive evaluation of the Congestion Relief Zone Tolling Program’s impact on neighborhood air quality, determining that the city’s air quality remained stable or improved slightly in the first year of congestion pricing: https://t.co/KGU4LaT1LB
Yesterday, I joined @nycHealthy amazing HRTP interns to view their final projects. It was great to see their perspectives, and dedication to public health. I can't wait to see what they do next!
With tick season in full swing, I got a first-hand look at how we track ticks in NYC.
Each year, @nycHealthy collects & tests thousands of ticks for pathogens, generating critical data that help protect New Yorkers from tick-borne diseases.
It was an honor to meet Julia Lin, Queens' top cookie seller and, one day, a future physician for this city.
Thank you @Lynn4NYC for bringing her by!
Julia, we're looking forward to a future with you in a white coat.
As a former Girl Scout, I was privileged to honor my constituent, Julia Lin, who sold the most Girl Scout cookies this year in Queens. As @NYCCouncil Health Chair, I surprised Julia by arranging for her to meet @NYCHealthCommr to discuss her ambitions to become a physician.
My statement in response to the president's executive order on childhood vaccination recommendations ⬇️
We will continue to follow the science and recommend vaccinations that are effective at preventing illnesses, and safe for families and children.
By endorsing this guidance, which is based on the latest scientific research, we are empowering health providers and communities to take proactive measures against preventable illnesses, ensuring healthier lives for the next generation.
New Yorkers deserve the most accurate and reliable information when it comes to protecting their family’s health. The 2026 @acog Maternal Immunization Schedule is a critical step forward in safeguarding the health of New York families.
Today we and @HealthNYGov are announcing our endorsement of the 2026 @acog Maternal Immunization Schedule for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum and encourage providers to incorporate it into routine clinical practice.
