We are delighted to bid farewell to retiring @YRP Chief Jim MacSween, who received a send-off to remember today. Chief MacSween assumed his role as Chief of Police on May 1, 2020, after a career that included service in the Criminal Investigations, Community Services & Training & Education Bureaus, as well as the Hold-Up Unit.
During his time as Chief, he served as #OACP President, Chair of the Canadian Police Knowledge Network & on the boards of St. John Ambulance & & @SOOntario.
Chief MacSween leaves a tremendous legacy of mentoring police leaders & dedication to the people of York Region & #Ontario. All the best, Chief!

@DeputyHiltz on her retirement from @SudburyPolice. 🎉
Deputy Hiltz began her career with @PeelPolice, rising over 28 years to the rank of Inspector before bringing her expertise to the Greater Sudbury PS as Deputy Chief of Operations. There, she championed authentic community relationships & meaningful engagement.
She served recently as Co-Chair of the #OACP’s Substance Advisory Committee & her commitment to community safety & improvement of our profession was demonstrated through her proud involvement with National Peace officer Memorial Run, @awip_on, @ABLE_org, Survivors of Law Enforcement & numerous other provincial & national policing committees.
Deputy Chief Hiltz, thank you for your unwavering dedication to safer Ontario communities. We wish you all the best in this well-earned next chapter. 👏
In the past 90 days, five Canadian police officers have been killed in the line of duty, and three officers were shot and seriously injured this week alone. These tragedies are felt deeply across Ontario, Québec, and Canada.
