Another amazing week at Summer Club has come to an end! From tasty treats like popcorn and candy floss to exciting games of crab football and creative activities such as kite and slime making. We’ve shared lots of laughter, fun and unforgettable moments together.

Thank you @stjohnambulance for inspiring and equipping our young people with essential first aid skills today. Through a fantastic Street First Aid session, they learned about CPR, the recovery position and managing catastrophic bleeding. Skills that could one day save a life.

We're incredibly grateful to @bringitonbrum and the #HakunaFruitata project for providing fresh, high-quality fruit from Birmingham Wholesale Markets. Access to healthy food makes a real difference, and our holiday club children will be enjoying fruit kebabs this week!

Holiday club has been full of exciting opportunities for children to play, explore and build confidence. They have enjoyed role play in Mini-Me play town, tackled the rodeo bull, go karts, inflatables, strike a light challenges, treasure hunts in forest school and much more.

Our annual slip ’n’ slide returned this week and what perfect timing! With the beautiful weather we’re currently enjoying, there was no better way to cool down than an afternoon of splashing, sliding and lots of laughter.

This year, our Summer Fayre was held behind closed doors and was expertly led by our fantastic Year 6 team. The whole school enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon with a variety of activities for everyone to take part in. It was wonderful to see year 6 pupils taking on leadership roles

A huge thank you to our Short Heath community. We made over £2300 in sales which gave us over £350 to spend on books for the school. The greatest gift we can give a child is a love of reading as every book a child reads is another step towards a world of opportunity.

Thank you to the serious youth violence team for delivering an engaging session to our year 6 pupils on community safety, consequential thinking, youth violence and recognising signs of exploitation. Vital learning to support a safe transition to secondary school.

This half term, we’ve used the excitement of the World Cup to learn about different countries from around the world. We also celebrated the diverse cultures within our school community, while exploring British Values and discussing what makes England such a great place to live.

What an end to the year! Another tournament, another trophy 🏆 A massive congratulations to our year 5 football team on securing back to back cup trophies, topping off another fantastic year of sports at OA Short Heath. Roll on next year! We are so proud! Well done all. #teamOASH

A huge thank you to Aquarius for delivering an engaging and informative assembly today to our Year 6 pupils on the dangers of smoking, vaping and alcohol misuse. The session highlighted the impact of peer pressure and empowered children to make safe and healthy choices.

A big thank you to @WMPolice Safer Travel for delivering a fantastic workshop to our Year 6 children today! Helping them feel confident and safe when travelling on public transport as they get ready for secondary school.
