I am honoured to be at the Education World Forum 2026 as a Full Delegate, representing Lagos State and Nigeria.
This is the largest gathering of education and skills ministers globally, and the theme, “Educating for a shared future: Peace, planet, purpose and pathways", could not be more urgent or inspiring.
I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor @jidesanwoolu, for the approval and confidence to be part of this historic forum.
Your unwavering commitment to transforming basic education in Lagos continues to open global doors for our state.
Our Nigerian Delegation is ably led by Dr. @DrTunjiAlausa , and I am proud to learn, share, and bring back insights that will strengthen the work we do at the Universal Basic Education Board, Lagos.
Let us keep building a future where every child, everywhere, has access to quality education.

Saturday, 4th July, 2026.
I was privileged to serve as one of the panelists at the colloquy of Dr. Muritala Seriki, APC Lagos State Youth Leader and LSHA candidate for Kosofe Constituency II. The event brought together respected leaders and young people across Lagos to discuss the theme, “Chasing Your Dreams: Everything Is Possible,” which reminded me that with purpose, resilience, and God’s grace, dreams can indeed become reality.
During the discussion, I emphasised the importance of consultation before making major decisions and the need for every young aspirant to have a *mentor* whose guidance and experience can help shape a successful leadership journey.
I congratulate my brother, Dr. Muritala Seriki, on the success of the colloquy and wish him a happy birthday in advance. I pray God grants him greater wisdom, good health, and continued success in all his endeavours.

“O ye enigbogbo ko yo owo alagbafo, ko ye atoole.” What this means is that, while “it’s okay for anyone to haggle with the washerman and negotiate a good price, certainly not the bedwetter”, whose situation is sure to subject the washerman to more work.
Kindly join me tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. on @ARISEtv as we discuss environmental issues in Lagos and other matters of public interest.
I look forward to an engaging and insightful conversation. See you then.
The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.. Michelangelo
If our young people are not better than us, then we failed.
It's that simple!
The true test of sustainable governance is the ability to pass the baton to proven hands, guided by minds that see the future clearly.
Today, I present a ticket that reflects the strength, diversity, and future of our great state.
Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has proven himself to be a dedicated public servant, a dependable partner in governance and a steadfast advocate for progress.
Joining him as his running mate is Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, a respected leader, sustainability professional, and grassroots champion whose commitment to community development and youth empowerment reflects the aspirations of many Lagosians.
Together, they bring the experience, competence, and energy needed to build on our achievements and move Lagos forward.
As we prepare for the forthcoming gubernatorial election, I invite party faithful, stakeholders, and all Lagosians to support this team as we continue our shared mission of building a Greater Lagos.

I congratulate our leader and President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 election.
This victory reflects the confidence and trust that party members across the country continue to place in his leadership and his commitment to building a better Nigeria.
The adoption of direct primaries also demonstrates our party’s commitment to strengthening internal democracy by giving members a stronger voice in the selection process.
Over the last few years, President Tinubu has taken important decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth. At critical moments, leadership requires courage and the willingness to take decisions that will move the country forward.
I am confident that Nigerians will continue to support a vision built on courage and sustainable progress. The journey continues, and together, we will keep working towards a nation that gives every citizen a fair opportunity to succeed.
