🇧🇩 After years of repression and a violent turning point in July 2024, Bangladesh is navigating a critical moment for human rights. While the scale of abuses remains stark, signs of change are beginning to emerge, from a landmark court ruling to growing pressure for accountability.

🇵🇰 In Pakistan, torture is widespread and systemic, especially in law enforcement and detention facilities, according to OMCT’s #GlobalTortureIndex.

📌 Exigen cabal cumplimiento de recomendación emitida por la DDHPO.

El 7 de junio del 2015, veintitrés defensores de DH fueron víctimas de detención

arbitraria y tortura, puestos a disposición de la entonces Procuraduría General de la República siendo recluidos en Centros Federales de máxima seguridad en distintos estados del país. Finalmente fueron declarados absueltos por falta de pruebas en agosto de 2018 cuando el juez tercero de distrito resolvió que “los elementos aprehensores actuaron con mendacidad”.

En su momento el Grupo de Trabajo sobre la Detención Arbitraria de la ONU emitió la Opinión No. 17/2016, demandando su liberación y la reparación del daño causado por el Estado mexicano, calificando como arbitraria su detención.

Los hechos que han dado origen a la recomendación y el juicio de protección ocurrieron cuando más de 80 manifestantes en Oaxaca fueron detenidos arbitrariamente por corporaciones estatales y federales. Su detención ocurrió en el contexto de lucha contra la mal llamada “#ReformaEducativa ” y las reformas estructurales de #EnriquePeñaNieto.
