Thanks to favourable weather conditions and the ongoing efforts of our personnel, all 3 fires in the Rinker Lake Complex are now under control.

As of this update, there are 31 active fires in the Northwest Region. Of those, 10 are under control and 21 are being observed.

Although conditions have changed considerably since the height of fire season, the potential for fire remains. As parts of the province transition into fall conditions, vegetation is beginning to die off and dry out, increasing the potential for human-caused fires.

Going hunting this fall?

Before you go, check Ontario's Forest Fire Information Map for the latest information on active wildland fires.

For your safety and the safety of our crews, please avoid areas affected by wildland fire.
