“Number one, I would make it much less advantageous in the tax code for these big investment firms—BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard, Fidelity, Blackstone—to buy tens of thousands of houses.

26% of houses last year were bought by investment firms.

I’m gonna create what my uncle created, which is a 3% mortgage for first-time home buyers for lower-priced housing.

There’s 280 malls that have gone bankrupt in this country, and I’m gonna turn those into factories to build prefab houses, and I’m gonna bring kids into those factories and teach them the trades, teach them electricity, HVAC, carpentry, and start rebuilding the infrastructure.”
