Before the first class, our students served. 💚
Nearly 450 OBU students and employees volunteered across 18+ locations in Shawnee for our annual #ServeShawnee event — living out what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
This is what 20 years of servant leadership looks like.

Great teachers do more than share knowledge. They create classrooms where students feel known, supported and ready to learn.
At OBU’s Henry F. McCabe Family School of Education, future educators are challenged academically, guided by professors who invest in them personally and prepared through meaningful classroom experiences. Along the way, they learn to approach teaching as a calling and to serve their students with the love, consistency and wisdom of Christ.

There’s a moment just before the music begins.
The room grows quiet. The anticipation builds. Then, with the first note, everything changes.
For generations, Raley Chapel has been filled with moments like these. Through chapel worship, choir concerts, orchestra performances, guest artists, and cherished Christmas traditions, music has brought the OBU family together in ways that words alone never could.
These weren't just performances. They were moments of worship, celebration, and shared experience that became part of the story of Bison Hill.
While every concert eventually came to an end, the memories have continued to echo across generations.
These moments are part of the story we're carrying forward. As Raley Chapel is renewed, we're preserving more than a place for music. We're preparing a space where future generations will gather, worship, perform, and create memories of their own.

What does summer look like at OBU?
While students may leave campus for a season, the work of preparing hearts and minds continues. This summer, OBU students, faculty and staff served churches around the world, equipped educators across Oklahoma, hosted thousands of campers, connected with alumni and prospective students, and provided hands-on learning experiences that extended far beyond Bison Hill.
From ministry in Croatia and Global Outreach teams serving across multiple continents to dinosaur excavations in Montana, honors studies in Oxford and partnerships that strengthen churches and communities, each opportunity reflected OBU's commitment to faith, learning and service.
Discover how the OBU community spent the summer making an impact both close to home and around the world.

Every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader, and every teacher deserves the tools to help make that possible.
This summer, OBU was honored to serve as one of only seven universities selected to host Oklahoma's Early Literacy Teacher Academy. Educators from across the state gathered on Bison Hill for intensive training in evidence-based literacy instruction, equipping them to strengthen reading outcomes for students in kindergarten through third grade.

One of the greatest advantages of studying art at OBU is learning from faculty who are actively shaping the industry they teach.
Associate Professor Josh Brunet recently illustrated Fly, a children's book published by a national publisher, bringing firsthand experience from the professional illustration world into the classroom. As the creative industry continues to evolve, our students benefit from learning alongside professors who are not only teaching the craft but practicing it every day.
Professional experience doesn't stay outside the classroom. It becomes part of how our students learn, create and prepare for their own careers.
Move with purpose. Lead with confidence. Serve with impact.
At OBU's Division of Exercise Science, Sports and Recreation, you'll gain the knowledge, hands-on experience and Christ-centered foundation to prepare for careers in health care, coaching, sports management, recreation and beyond. Wherever you're called, we're committed to helping you make a difference in the lives of others.

College is about more than earning a degree. It is about finding a community that challenges you, encourages you, and reminds you that you are never walking alone. That sense of belonging can shape a lifetime.
For generations, Raley Chapel has been part of the story of Oklahoma Baptist University.
It's where students have gathered to worship. Where music has filled the room. Where lifelong friendships have begun. Where quiet prayers have become lifelong callings. Where the OBU family has celebrated, reflected, and grown together.
No two stories are exactly alike, but for so many who have called Bison Hill home, Raley has been part of the journey.
It's never been about a building.
It's about the people whose lives have been shaped here.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Raley Chapel?
Most people can point to a teacher who changed the course of their life.
Great educators do more than teach a subject. They encourage potential, cultivate character, and inspire students to become who they were created to be.
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom, opportunity and the enduring ideals that have shaped our nation. As we reflect with gratitude, we also look ahead with hope for the generations to come.
Happy Fourth of July from Oklahoma Baptist University.
Every generation has the opportunity to leave something meaningful for the next.
At OBU, Shape the Future reflects a commitment to strengthen the people, programs, and places that prepare students to impact the world through a Christ-centered education.
