This morning, a member of the public hit our truck on SR 340 in Noble County. That driver was cited for assured clear distance ahead and no operators license. Please do better. We're just trying to do our jobs!
#ProfessionalEngineersDay is a special occasion dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of licensed professional engineers (PEs). We're grateful for so many talented PEs at ODOT who keep Ohio moving and safe.
@lfranzman@USDOTRapid@USDOT@DHSgov@FoxNews@ODOT_Dayton We aren’t an enforcement agency nor do we issue any form of licensing. Our friends at Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio are responsible for oversight and enforcement for commercial hauling at the state level.
Huge shout out to the Southern Ohio Bikers Adopt-A-Highway group for their amazing work cleaning up trash along I-74 in Hamilton County. They recently picked up 18 bags of litter! Volunteering really makes a difference! #adoptahighway
@_mahpiohanzia@ODOT_Cincinnati ODOT does perform litter cleanup, frequently. There’s just so much litter that we also need help from volunteers and incarcerated individuals. One of the best ways citizens can help is to simply not litter and secure your load. Thanks👍
Performing road work at night may be more convenient for motorists, but more challenging for us. Incorporating the right balance of lighting to both illuminate the work area and provide visibility of the crew is crucial. Remember: Work zones occur at all hours. #MoveOverMonday
Thanks to inventor Garrett Morgan, drivers around the nation are safer. Do your part by stopping at red lights. Running a red light is a major cause of crashes in urban areas. These crashes injure thousands of people and kill hundreds every year across the country. #StoponRedWeek
The Cuyahoga County Safety Corridor is relocating to a 14-mile stretch on I-480. While we encourage all drivers on all roadways to drive safely, but this new corridor on I-480 will bring increased awareness to a troublesome location.

Whether behind the wheel, on 2 wheels, or on foot, roadway safety is a shared responsibility— watching for signs, signals, & other people. There’s space for all of us to travel safely for recreation, community, or necessity. We're teaming up w/ @ODOT_Statewide to raise awareness.
