Scott Robertson thinks the problem is Poilievre saying “recession” too loudly.
No. The problem is Canadians living through one quietly.
You can argue over the technical definition all day. Two quarters, GDP, per-capita GDP, productivity, unemployment, real wages, business insolvencies, rent, groceries, mortgage renewals. Fine. Bring your spreadsheet.
But ordinary Canadians already know the answer.
When your paycheque buys less, your rent eats more, your kids cost more to feed, your mortgage renewal feels like a mugging, and the government keeps pretending rebates are prosperity, people are not interested in elite word games.
Poilievre is not “rooting for a recession.”
He is naming the economic damage people are already feeling.
The real political mistake is telling voters not to believe their own bank account.

@RMapleCan Are you playing stupid? These are seasonal hires. Keep that same energy when they’re no longer needed and those numbers go all crappy again dumbass. Maga liberal, remember it’s Mark Carney that wants to make America great again. Since he is 90% invested in the United States.
@LauraBabcock Your propaganda can’t wrap your head around seasonal hires, and then when those seasonal hires are no longer needed your absolutely silent on job numbers
@ryangerritsen The economy is working just as intended. My banker friends are getting rich off of NSF charges My portfolio is slowly working in favour of making me a billionaire and wait until 2050 and our economy will be the best in the G7 just need a little time to implement net zero
@DominicCardy That bottom part from a superior economist world class banker puts us in a recession, that I can’t tolerate all I’ve heard from this new and old liberal government is how great our economy has been and will be if we just wait until…… it happens I guess https://t.co/0nIn92hOb8
