We heard from the inspirational @SmajoBeso as he taught our @OfficialNUSA pupils about the impact of the Bosnian Genoicde upon his life and his own community. Our pupils truly appreciated his incredible words and felt inspired. It's vital that we never forget events 30 years ago.
Finally, we reflected back upon the beautiful partnership formed with @RWBAHolocaust#HtFMeUs and @45AidSociety by sharing the video presented to the 45 Aid Society Reunion with such pride last year. Everything we do is for a better future and that future begins at @OfficialNUSA
Our @OfficialNUSA Year 8 pupils have been studying the history of Judaism as part of our cross-curricular approach in Humanities to ensure pupils have strong foundation knowledge ahead of their Holocaust Education studies in Year 9 as part of our Quality Mark @UCL_Holocaust SoL

@OfficialNUSA We will hear from Holocaust survivors and second and third generation family members, we will hear from a survivor of the Bosnian genocide and hear their incredible and inspirational story which will truly make our pupils reflect upon our modern day lives.
Our assemblies will reaffirm our Beacon School values as a school @OfficialNUSA and remind pupils of the role they have in educating society and the community about the Holocaust, on Antisemitism and the knowledge of other Genocides. We will hear from inspirational speakers...
Our @OfficialNUSA@HMD_UK Holocaust Memorial Day assemblies will continue throughout this week as we reflect upon our role as a @UCL_Holocaust Quality Mark school in educating our current generation for a better future that continues beyond today.
For their My Hometown project, deaf students from the Nottingham University Samworth Academy, UK researched local Holocaust survivors, and discovered the intriguing story of Simon Winston. Having spoken to partners at the National Holocaust Centre, students arranged for an interview to take place with Simon at the centre, using British Sign Language. The project inspired a school visit by Simon Winston where he shared his Holocaust testimony with 850 students.
