We love hearing from our community and welcome respectful discussion.
To keep our space safe and supportive for everyone, here’s a quick reminder of our community guidelines. 💬💚
This Men's Health Month, Paramedic and SALS Advisor, Andy has an important message.
In emergency services, we're often focused on supporting others, but it's just as important to look after yourself.
Talking about mental health isn't always easy, but reaching out for support can make a real difference. Whether it's a colleague, friend, family member or one of the support services available through WMAS, you don't have to face things alone.
💚If you're struggling, support is available.
💚If someone doesn't seem themselves, ask how they're doing.
💚Let's continue to look out for one another.

What an incredible view over Dudley hub! 😯🌩️
After days of soaring temperatures, the storms certainly made an entrance for much of the West Midlands overnight.
We're still expecting hot weather today, with an amber health alert still in place, so please ensure you're taking care of yourselves, staying hydrated and looking out for loved ones. ☀️
(Thanks to NQP, Gracie, for the snap!)
Though it's tempting to take a dip in open water on a hot day, there are hidden dangers beneath the surface making rivers, lakes and quarries unpredictable and dangerous when there isn't a lifeguard or safety measures in place. Our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) paramedics are trained and equipped to manage any patient within the water environment. If you see someone in the water and think they might be in difficulty, call 999 immediately.
Bank Holiday plans? ☀️
BBQs, beer gardens, paddling pools and park days are calling... but so is the heat! 🥵
With temperatures set to soar across the West Midlands today, don’t forget the basics:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🧴 Wear sunscreen
🧢 Keep cool in the shade
👵 Check in on vulnerable loved ones
🚑 And make sure you’re using the right NHS service if you need help
Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, and leave the emergencies to us. ❤️
The heat can put extra pressure on emergency services, so if you need help, choose the right service for your symptoms. 🤔🚑
For minor illnesses or advice 👉 think NHS 111, your GP or local pharmacy before calling 999.
If it’s a life-threatening emergency, always call 999 immediately.
Due to a large fire on Rood End Road, Oldbury, locals are urged to please keep doors and windows closed. Avoid the area, where possible whilst @WestMidsFire work to manage the scene. Thankfully there are no patients.
🌊 We know it's hot and open water may look inviting to cool off but the reality is, it can be deadly, even for strong swimmers.
⚠️ Hidden dangers
⚠️ Cold water shock
⚠️ Strong currents
Only swim where lifeguarded, watch children closely and call 999 in an emergency. Never enter the water yourself; we have specialist staff, like our Hazardous Area Response Team, who train for these types of situations.
Most of us welcome warm weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks and more people than usual get seriously ill or die. Find out how you can stay cool and safe when the temperatures rise 👉https://t.co/7NzgwPatDU
