ASSAM RIFLES MARKS 150 YEARS OF VANDE MATARAM WITH PATRIOTIC RALLY IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

#AssamRifles organised a Tiranga Rally and Mass Singing of “Vande Mataram” at Wakka Town, Longding, Arunachal Pradesh on 10 Aug 2026 to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of 162 villagers and students, who proudly carried the National Flag during the rally and joined the mass singing, celebrating patriotism, unity and national pride.
Participants were felicitated by the Commandant, Assam Rifles, in recognition of their enthusiastic participation. The initiative strengthened national integration, community engagement and the bond of trust and goodwillbetween Assam Rifles and the local population.

ASSAM RIFLES HONOURS BRAVEHEART NAIK GOVIND SINGH ON HIS MARTYRDOM ANNIVERSARY IN TENGNOUPAL

#AssamRifles paid solemn tribute to Naik Govind Singh on 10 August 2026 at Battalion Headquarters, Tengnoupal, commemorating the 28th anniversary of his supreme sacrifice during Operation Rakshak in Jammu & Kashmir.

During a fierce encounter on 10 August 1996, Naik Govind Singh displayed exceptional courage while leading his LMG group, engaging militants and neutralising two adversaries. Despite sustaining a fatal gunshot wound, he continued to engage the enemy until his last breath.

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was conducted to honour his indomitable courage, selfless devotion and supreme sacrifice.

ASSAM RIFLES FOSTERS PATRIOTIC OUTREACH ACROSS MANIPUR THROUGH 'VANDE MATARAM' AND 'HAR GHAR TIRANGA' DRIVES

#AssamRifles conducted a series of civic action and youth outreach initiatives across Manipur from 04–10 August 2026, commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram” and supporting the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

At Kha Manipur College, Kakching, an Annual Training Camp engaged 450 NCC cadets, alongside 65 Assam Rifles personnel and NCC Officers, through physical training, health awareness, historical education, career guidance and national integration activities.

At Joupi, Chandel, 30 students and five teachers participated in a Vande Mataram awareness programme, while 50 residents at Pallel joined a Swachhata Abhiyan.

At Mombi, 28 villagers participated in the Tiranga Run 2026, including a 1.5-km run and house-to-house National Flag distribution.

At Shangshak, Ukhrul, 45 students and 10 teachers participated in a Tricolour March, while a Tiranga Rally from Kongkan Post to Lakhan Khuman Village in Kamjong further promoted unity and community participation.

The integrated initiatives promoted patriotism, youth empowerment, cleanliness, career awareness, civic responsibility and stronger civil-military relationsacross Manipur.

The medical team conducted health check-ups, screened common ailments, distributed free medicines and spread awareness on hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and preventive healthcare. #AssamRifles conducted a National Flag Distribution and Awareness Drive at Government Primary School, Piphema, Chumoukedima District, Nagaland on 10 August 2026 commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram”.

Students were sensitised on the history and significance of “Vande Mataram”, the importance of Independence Day and the need to respect the National Flag. National Flags were distributed among the students, followed by a mass singing of “Vande Mataram”.

ASSAM RIFLES, ASSAM POLICE AND TERRITORIAL ARMY APPREHEND NSCN (KYA) CADRE IN ASSAM

#AssamRifles in a joint operation with Assam Police and Territorial Army, apprehended 01 active cadre of NSCN (KYA) in the general area of Jagun, Lekhapani, Assam on 08 Aug 2026, based on credible intelligence inputs.

The operation also led to the recovery of 01 .32 calibre pistol, 01 magazine and 01 camping tent. The apprehended cadre and recovered items were handed over for further investigation and legal proceedings.

#AssamRifles in a joint operation with Cachar Police and Sribhumi Police, recovered 8.224 kg of Morphine worth approximately ₹13 crore and apprehended 01 drug peddlerin Badarpur, Sribhumi District, Assam, on 10 Aug 2026.

The operation also led to the seizure of 01 Mahindra Bolero and 01 mobile handset. The apprehended individual and seized items were handed over to Sribhumi Police for further legal proceedings.

ASSAM RIFLES-MIZORAM POLICE JOINT OPERATION BUSTS MARIJUANA CONSIGNMENT IN MIZORAM

#AssamRifles in a joint operation with Mizoram Police, launched an operation at Kawlbem, Saitual, Mizoram on 09 Aug 2026.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 18.520 kg marijuana worth approximately ₹10.56 lakh, along with 01 motorcycle and the apprehension of 01 individual. The seized contraband, vehicle and apprehended individual were handed over to Ngopa Police Station for further legal proceedings.

ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES CONTRABAND WORTH ₹1.17 CRORE IN CACHAR

#AssamRifles in coordination with Customs Department, Cachar conducted a joint operation at Latigram, near Srikona, Cachar District, Assam on 09 Aug 2026, seizing contraband worth approximately ₹1.17 crore.

The operation led to the recovery of 4,50,000 cigarette sticks and 500 kg poppy seeds. One container vehicle and two mobile phones were also seized, while 02 individuals were apprehended. The seized items and apprehended individuals were handed over to Customs Department, Cachar for further legal action.
