Winner will be announced shortly after pre-orders go live this week.
Strauss Zelnick (Take-Two CEO) has repeatedly said that Rockstar/T2 prefer a short marketing cycle close to GTA 6 release, meaning they don’t start heavy promotion too early.
He explained they usually only spend heavily on marketing when they’re “pretty close to release,” and that GTA 6 will follow a tight, high-impact campaign rather than a long one.
“If” nothing happens next week, it probably makes more sense to wait until summer fully begins, June-August feels more realistic for full marketing to start, typically around 4-5 months before launch.
I’m hoping they announce preorders on Monday along with a new trailer. All we can do is wait.
