ASSAM RIFLES FELICITATES 44 YOUTHS ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME 6.0 IN MANIPUR
#AssamRifles facilitated the successful culmination of its Skill Development Programme 6.0 during a solemn felicitation ceremony held today at Bamon Awang Leikai in Imphal East District, Manipur. Conducted in collaboration with We Care Skill Solutions, the 12-week programme equipped 19 boys and 25 girls with industry-relevant skills in the Hospitality and Retail sectors. Upon successful completion of the training, all participants secured placements with reputed establishments in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Gurugram. From the heart of the Imphal Valley to some of India's leading metropolitan cities, these young professionals are set to embark on promising careers while proudly representing the rich culture, resilience and talent of Manipur. Assam Rifles extends its heartfelt congratulations and wishes them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter in their lives.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES LECTURE ON WOMEN'S HEALTH AND HEART DISEASE AT DIMAPUR, NAGALAND
No. 1 Workshop #AssamRifles, Dimapur, Nagaland, organised an informative lecture on Women's Health and Heart Disease on 08 July 2026 for the families of the unit. The session was conducted by Commandant (Dr) C I Biradar and Commandant (Dr) Charishma, who shared valuable insights on women's health, the prevention and early detection of heart disease, healthy lifestyle practices and the importance of regular medical check-ups. The interactive session provided an opportunity for the ladies and family members to discuss their health-related concerns directly with the doctors. The speakers patiently addressed their queries and offered practical medical guidance, enabling participants to better understand and manage common health issues.

ASSAM RIFLES FOSTERS PATRIOTISM AMONG YOUNG STUDENTS IN NAGALAND
#AssamRifles organised an educational and motivational visit for students of Sainik School Punglwa at Jalukie, Nagaland, as part of its continued efforts towards youth engagement and fostering awareness about the Armed Forces among young students. A total of 80 students alongwith two teaching staff members visited the Battalion and participated in a series of interactive and informative activities designed to provide them with an insight into the functioning and lifestyle of a military unit. During the visit, students participated enthusiastically in activities including josh push-ups, musical chairs, engagement programmes and motivational sessions aimed at encouraging teamwork, confidence and leadership qualities.

ASSAM RIFLES PERSONNEL DONATE BLOOD TO SAVE LIFE OF ELDERLY WOMAN IN MELURI, NAGALAND
#AssamRifles personnel in Meluri, Nagaland, voluntarily donated 02 units of O positive blood to save the life of a 75-year-old woman admitted to CHC Meluri with critically low haemoglobin (1.9 g/dL). Responding promptly to the emergency an Assam Rifles officer and a Riflewoman ensured timely transfusion and coordinated closely with the medical team for uninterrupted treatment. The patient’s condition has since shown steady improvement, reflecting Assam Rifles continued commitment to humanitarian assistance and community welfare in remote border areas.

#AssamRifles organised an Awareness Lecture-cum-Garrison Visit for 116 students of St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang, Nagaland on 08 July 2026. The programme was conducted with the aim of motivating young students to pursue a career in the Armed Forces while providing them with an insight into the life of a soldier. The event comprised a motivational lecture on various avenues for joining the Armed Forces, followed by a guided tour of Tuensang Garrison. During the visit, the students were familiarised with the daily routine, discipline, training environment and professional ethos of soldiers, enabling them to gain first-hand exposure to military life.

ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES COMPUTER PERIPHERALS TO CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATION IN MIZORAM
#AssamRifles distributed computers and computer peripherals to the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), Mizoram's leading civil society organisation on 07 July 2026. The event was presided over by Brigadier Puspendar Sorayan, Deputy Inspector General, 23 Sector Assam Rifles, who thanked CYMA for its steadfast support in anti-narcotics operations and its cooperation in various developmental and educational initiatives undertaken by Assam Rifles. As a gesture of goodwill, Assam Rifles presented three desktop computers and one printer to CYMA. Prof. Malsawmliana, General Secretary, Central Young Mizo Association, appreciated the initiatives of Assam Rifles in Mizoram and lauded the Force's continued commitment to community development, education and the fight against drug abuse.

#AssamRifles organised a Medical Camp for NCC Cadets participating in Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-38 at St. Xavier's School, Maibang, Dima Hasao District, Assam on 06 July 2026. The camp provided free medical check-ups, medical consultations, essential medicines and treatment for minor ailments. An interactive health awareness session was also conducted on personal hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, hydration, first aid and prevention of seasonal illnesses. ASSAM RIFLES SEIZES METHAMPHETAMINE TABLETS WORTH ₹3.30 CRORES IN CHAMPHAI, MIZORAM
#AssamRifles in a joint operation with the Excise and Narcotics Department (Champhai) recovered Methamphetamine tablets worth approximately ₹3.30 crores in Zote, Champhai District, Mizoram on 05 July 2026. During the operation, an abandoned TVS Apache RTR motorcycle (Registration No. MZ 01AE 2805) was recovered. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 1.1 kg of Methamphetamine tablets. The recovered contraband, alongwith the vehicle was handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department, Champhai for further investigation and legal proceedings.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS SECURITY MEETING IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH
#AssamRifles organised a Security Meeting at Wakka Town, Arunachal Pradesh on 04 July 2026 with representatives from villages located along and across the Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB). The meeting was aimed at strengthening cooperation with the border communities and enhancing awareness on issues concerning border security. During the interaction, discussions focused on the Free Movement Regime (FMR), designated border crossing points and the proposed fencing along the Indo-Myanmar Border. The security implications and factual aspects of these measures were explained to the villagers from both sides of the border, many of whom share longstanding familial and cultural ties.

ASSAM RIFLES LEADS AFFORESTATION DRIVE UNDER VAN MAHOTSAV IN MANIPUR
#AssamRifles in collaboration with the Forest Department, Manipur police, educational institutions and civil society organisations conducted a series of afforestation drives across Kakching and Chandel districts of Manipur under Van Mahotsav and the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0" campaign, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and community welfare. At Sugnu, Kakching District, Assam Rifles joined hands with local stakeholders and residents to plant around 80 saplings, promoting environmental awareness and strengthening civil-military cooperation. In Chandel District, over 40 students of L Thingamphai High School actively participated in planting 112 saplings after an awareness session on biodiversity and climate change conducted by Forest Department officials.

The patient is currently stable and recovering well under close medical observation at the Unit Hospital, Khuga.
