The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) today received a delegation from the Bayelsa State Peace Architecture on a courtesy visit at the Nigerian Content Tower, Swali, Yenagoa, to explore areas of collaboration on peacebuilding and community development initiatives.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), Mr Desmond Awumade, the Security Manager of the Board reaffirmed NCDMB’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, security, and social stability as critical enablers of sustainable development and Nigerian Content growth.
He noted that the Board recognizes the importance of strategic partnerships in fostering dialogue, conflict prevention, and peaceful coexistence within host communities, adding that a secure environment is essential for investment, job creation, and economic development.
The delegation sought the Board’s collaboration in capacity building, specialized training, joint peacebuilding programmes, operational support, and partnership for the 2026 United Nations World Peace Day activities in Bayelsa State.
In recognition of its contributions to peace, security, and sustainable development, the Bayelsa State Peace Architecture presented the NCDMB with the Peace Icon Award.
Also present at the meeting were the Manager, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), Mr. Maurice Iwhiwhu; the Manager, Government Relations, Mr. Teddy Bai; and other staff of the Board.

The training programme features six comprehensive learning modules carefully designed to equip participants with industry-relevant digital competencies. These include:

The virtual launch ceremony attracted officials of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, representatives of Cypher Crescent Limited, facilitators, and the 500 undergraduate participants who are expected to undergo intensive three (3) month training throughout the programme.
The Catch the Researchers Young (CRYP) Programme represents another significant milestone in NCDMB's commitment to nurturing indigenous talent, strengthening Nigeria's research ecosystem, and preparing a new generation of digitally skilled professionals capable of driving innovation, technological advancement, and sustainable growth in the country's energy industry.
NCDMB, Cypher Crescent Launch 'Catch the Researchers Young' Programme to Equip 500 Nigerian Undergraduates with Digital Research Skills
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Cypher Crescent Limited, has officially launched the Catch the Researchers Young (CRY) Programme, an initiative designed to equip 500 Nigerian undergraduates with cutting-edge digital research skills and emerging technological competencies.
The virtual kickoff ceremony, held on 29 June 2026, marked the commencement of a transformative capacity building programme aimed at preparing young Nigerians to leverage digital tools for research, innovation, and problem solving within the nation's evolving energy sector and beyond.
Representing the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Director of Corporate Services, Dr. Abdulmalik Halilu, welcomed participants to the inaugural ceremony and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to developing the next generation of Nigerian researchers, innovators, and technology professionals.
Dr. Halilu noted that the programme aligns with the NCDMB's 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, particularly its pillars on Technical Capability Development and Human Capacity Development. According to him, investing in digital research skills for young Nigerians reflects the Board's vision of building a highly skilled workforce capable of driving innovation and supporting Nigeria's industrial growth.
Reaffirming the Board's commitment to supporting indigenous companies and empowering Nigerian youths, Dr. Halilu encouraged participants to take full advantage of the unique learning opportunity. He officially declared the programme open and expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired would position participants to make meaningful contributions to national development.
Delivering the keynote address, the Ag. Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Silas Ajemijaye, described the Catch the Researchers Young (CRYP) Programme as a strategic collaboration between NCDMB, Cypher Crescent Limited, and industry stakeholders aimed at bridging the gap between academic research and practical technological application within Nigeria’s university system.
He emphasized that Nigeria's greatest asset is not merely its abundant natural resources but the intelligence, creativity, and innovative potential of its young people. He challenged participants to remain curious, embrace collaboration, and develop practical solutions capable of addressing challenges across the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the petroleum industry.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cypher Crescent Limited, Engr. ThankGod Igbe, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, describing it as a programme that resonates deeply with his personal and professional journey. He recalled how opportunities for industrial training played a significant role in shaping his career and commended NCDMB for consistently investing in programmes that build the capacity of young Nigerians.
Engr. Igbe expressed confidence that the collaboration between NCDMB and Cypher Crescent would provide participants with an enabling platform to harness their creativity, innovation, and passion for research. He noted that the programme would expose participants to practical knowledge and valuable industry experiences that would prepare them for future careers in research, technology, and the energy sector.
"As we embark on this journey, we are confident that the energy, creativity, and enthusiasm of our young people, combined with the opportunities created through this programme, will make it a resounding success. We look forward to the knowledge, skills, and experiences participants will acquire throughout the training," he said.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with Aradel Holdings Plc, yesterday held the close-out ceremony for the Aradel Holdings/HPTP Turnkey Drilling Services Human Capacity Development (HCD) Training Programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The ceremony featured presentations by the trainees, showcasing the technical and vocational competencies acquired during the programme, as well as the recognition of outstanding participants for their exceptional performance and dedication.
The Board commended Aradel Holdings Plc and its training partners for their sustained investment in human capital development and collaboration in building indigenous capacity, in line with the objectives of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGIC) Act.
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) yesterday held the close-out ceremony for the Uzu/CPF Upgrade – Package 1 Pipeline Human Capacity Development (HCD) Training Programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Representing the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the General Manager, Human Capacity Development, Madam Alexis Emelle, congratulated the 50 beneficiaries who successfully completed the programme, comprising 30 vocational and 20 professional trainees.
She noted that the training, implemented by Prime Source Limited in collaboration with FEMADEC, Offshore Lab and Doret Technologies, was designed to equip participants with industry-relevant technical, professional and entrepreneurial skills in Welding, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Project Management, Quality Management, Engineering Software applications, and Entrepreneurship Development.
Madam Emelle stated that the programme aligns with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGIC) Act and the Board’s Human Capacity Development Guidelines, which seek to bridge critical skills gaps, build indigenous capacity and enhance Nigerians’ participation in the oil and gas industry.
She commended Renaissance Africa Energy, Prime Source Limited and the training partners for their commitment to human capacity development and urged the graduates to uphold professionalism, embrace innovation and apply the knowledge acquired to create value for themselves and the nation.
NCDMB Continues Stakeholder Engagement on Nigerian Content Trainer Registration Certificate (NCTRC)
Yesterday in Port Harcourt, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) continued its stakeholder engagement on the deployment of the Nigerian Content Trainer Registration Certificate (NCTRC) through another sensitization workshop aimed at strengthening human capital development across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, Barr. Olugbenga Sheba, General Manager, Infrastructure Capacity Building Development, emphasized the critical role of training and workforce development in closing industry capacity gaps and ensuring Nigerian professionals remain competitive in the evolving global energy landscape.
He also reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to implementing the Presidential Directives on Local Content Requirements issued in March 2024, particularly the provisions aimed at eliminating intermediary entities without demonstrable capacity from contracting processes. According to him, the NCTRC initiative aligns with NCDMB’s mandate to standardize training delivery, improve service quality, and ensure that capacity development programmes are facilitated by competent and qualified professionals. He added that the certification framework will enhance the credibility of trainers and training providers while promoting globally competitive standards across Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and its linkage sectors.
The workshop featured a comprehensive presentation on the NCTRC guidelines and requirements by Mr. Salim Musa, who outlined the objectives, eligibility criteria, application process, and benefits of the certification scheme. Participants also received a live demonstration of the registration portal by Vascon Solutions, providing practical guidance on the application process. The engagement concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which stakeholders shared feedback and sought further clarification on the initiative.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) today received a delegation from the Delta State Local Content Agency on a strategic familiarization and collaboration visit aimed at strengthening local content development, institutional partnerships, and workforce capacity within the oil and gas industry.
The visit featured knowledge-sharing sessions and discussions on areas of mutual interest, with both organizations expressing commitment to future collaboration in support of local content development and capacity building.
Mrs. Emelle was accompanied by the Manager, Community-Based Training, James Eyeteigha; Manager, BIT, Nnoli Chinyelu; Assistant Manager, Khadija Jekhine; Supervisor, Nancy Inyang; and other staff of the Board.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) earlier today, held the close-out ceremony for 30 beneficiaries of its Vocational and Special Training for Youths in Field Locations (Stream 1) at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training, Elebele, Bayelsa State.
The three-week Human Capacity Development (HCD) intervention equipped participants with practical and entrepreneurial skills in Catering, Food Processing, and Fashion Design through intensive classroom and hands-on training.
Certificates and starter-packs were presented to each participant, and three outstanding participants were also recognized and awarded at the ceremony.
