Hey @DougRobersonAJC any news today on Almada’s likelihood of starting tomorrow? He had a late test again today, correct? He’s been fully training I think but still listed as questionable...
@CANSoccerDaily@tdnightingale I’ve long said our execs simply didn’t believe we could improve (on the men’s side certainly)… so they never bothered to allow for it, or even entertain the possibility. No wonder so few former players are execs with us - they were coached to believe, and to work, and to win.
Former Canada Soccer presidents Nick Bontis and Victor Montagliani (now CONCACAF president) testified before the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage
There was a lot of talking. But was there much said?

Can someone explain to me how young players or families can afford to go watch their heroes?? This is extortion. #CanMNT#CanWNT How the f@ck do we grow the game? Our stars need to be accessible to everyone. World class players that aren’t here that often.

Nick Bontis and Victor Montagliani, who both are former presidents of Canada Soccer, are expected to testify this Thursday before the federal Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage, a source tells me.
Montagliani is now a FIFA vice president and president of Concacaf.
@thegoalkeeper I feel binary is the great technology that can solve this. You pay for a 1 and get a stream with no ads. Or don’t pay and get a 0 stream with ads.
Bontis’ departure MUST trigger sweeping change.
It’s not enough.
Our athletes-as well as future generations of Canadian footballers-deserve so much better.
