Becoming the kind of person who will be trusted with $5.5M requires determination, bro. No one is giving you such money (in this climate) based on vibe.
If there was a certain amount of money necessary that would break a song or an artist, the labels would spend that money on EVERY song to break them.
Relationships, developing your audience, creating engaging content, and most importantly - making good music that people want to hear is how you break!
@bobbyceezar Dem no dey hear oh. Artist way never build anything dey find “investor”. To invest in what? Your subjective talent?
This isn’t 2015. Go build something first.
Simply believing in yourself is not enough, you must follow up with the work and produce enough output to give you confidence in that belief. That’s the magic.
Anyone putting budget first in today’s music industry doesn’t have practical knowledge.
If you’ve worked with an actual budget, you’d understand budgets don’t break songs or artists; they amplify what’s already there.
If you come with the mentality that you have “enough budget,” your money will go down the drain.
