TODAY, I visited Bulla Haji village to witness the transformative impact of integrated climate-resilience investments implemented by IOM Kenya in partnership with the Mandera County Government and local partner OSDA, with support from the European Union through the DARIS WACAN project and IOM internal funding through the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL).

Families now have access to clean and reliable water through new and solarized shallow wells, farmers are producing food from a thriving community model farm, and the newly established Multipurpose Energy Hub is providing renewable energy that is powering livelihoods and essential community services.

These investments are helping our people become more resilient in the face of climate change while creating new economic opportunities.

I sincerely thank the European Union, IOM Kenya, our implementing partners, local leadership and, most importantly, the people of Bulla Haji for embracing these initiatives.

We need to build on this kind of partnership; practical, people-centred investments that strengthen resilience, improve livelihoods and give hope to our communities.
