Nigerians are very interesting people. Whenever I’m leaving Nigeria for Canada to spend time with my wife, I usually buy a variety of Naija soups to travel with. On my last trip, I paid a popular Lekki restaurant in full to prepare about ten packs of local soups and practically begged them not to disappoint me.
Imagine arriving in Canada only to discover that roughly 80% of the soups contained nothing but pomo, despite how much I paid per meal. The whole thing left me genuinely confused. What exactly was their thought process? Did they assume I wouldn’t eventually eat the food and notice, or did they simply not care whether I ever returned? Very strange way to run a business.
