The King James Version of the Bible requires a 12th grade literacy level to even begin to comprehend and 24% of the country is functionally illiterate and only 12-13% of US adults have a 12th grade level literacy rate. When you consider this it makes sense why so many people utilize the Bible improperly, misinterpret its meaning, and why they appreciate the bible’s “mystique”.

It’s not mysterious though. It’s a collection of metaphors and lessons to be interpreted largely not at face value/literally, but for what they represent. But when you ask a population of individuals lacking the reading proficiency and literacy to do so, who don’t realize they lack the ability to properly comprehend and interpret what they’re reading in the first place, we get what we have now. A gaggle of people who practice religion in such a way that goes directly against what religion actually should be.

I just don’t see how the argument that Roman was forced down our throats in his early career, true or not, does anything to discredit his all time greatness. His highs have validated the vision they had in him☝🏼
