Jacoby Brissett is holding out. The Cardinals and their quarterback are “significantly far apart” in negotiations.

Being around the league the last 23 years, I have learned that moments like this require a delicate balance between knowing your value and being willing to stand on it, while also understanding timing and relationships.

While the number is important, it is not the sole determinant of a player’s worth. Respect is paramount in professional sports, and the number is just one aspect of that respect.

Therefore, the question is whether Jacob Brissett has the necessary relationships within the organization and whether this is the appropriate time to negotiate. I hope they reach a resolution. Brissett is a pro’s pro and his performance has earned him the right to advocate for his worth.
