August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, a time to remember those we’ve lost and take action to prevent more overdoses. In honor of International Overdose Awareness Day, the Center on Addiction and Public Policy at the O’Neill Institute, in partnership with the Hoya DOPE Project at Georgetown University Medical Center and Hoyas for Recovery, is hosting a naloxone training and distribution session.
This training is designed to equip our community with the skills to use naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid-related overdose. Every participant will receive naloxone upon completion of the training.
