Accurate, Reliable, Fast. Introducing LumenPnP v4 Desktop Pick and Place. Save weeks of engineering time and de-risk production by rapidly and automatically building prototypes in-house. Link in bio!
@stephen_hawes_ spoke at @pittengineering's Makerspace last night about his journey from developing desktop pick and place machines in his house to running a 10-person open source hardware company. We even got a peek at the LumenPnp students and faculty use in their lab!
16mm & 24mm feeders are here. Completely redesigned for wider tape. Now put every part in a feeder and fully automate SMT production in-house with the LumenPnP.

It’s alive!! 🔥
I am literally a 30 years old dad learning to assemble pcbs in my basement.
The board it’s making is very similar to a benchy in the 3d printing world.
It tests calibration of the machine.
The pcb has double sided sticky tape on the top so the resistor stays in place.
It picks it from the tape, checks alignment of the resistor on the nozzle over the top of the camera ( light part ), and then places it in on the board.
This was my first ever run, they are all 90 degrees the wrong rotation, but I have it dialed in now. 🤣
Next step it to design my own starter pcb and see if we can reflow solder.
Ps LOOK HOW SMALL THESE COMPONENTS ARE!! Get me some glasses . 🤓
