Privacy blockchains have been around for years. Yet, we barely use them.

Why?

Here are the real barriers:

1. Ease of use: Privacy must be native to the wallet. It can't be a separate dApp - that's too much friction.

2. Assets: We need privacy infrastructure, not privacy tokens.
You shouldn't have to swap your ETH or BTC for a different token just to get anonymity.

3. Performance: Transactions must be fast and cheap.

4. Compliance: Total transparency is exposure; total anonymity is a magnet for bad actors.
We need a middle ground: a mechanism to surgically unshield illicit activity without compromising the privacy of other users.

Starknet is solving this.
With STRK20, we're addressing these hurdles.
