Since Notre Dame's George Connor in 1946, the Outland Trophy has been awarded by @TheFWAA to college football's best interior lineman on offense or defense.
Kudos to Cincy SID's Zach Stipe and Chris Cullum on the promo package for @GoBearcatsFB on their three outstanding OL's, Evan Tengesdahl, Joe Cotton and Taran Tyo. Promo box - "Serving pancakes this fall" - includes syrup, pancake mix and mascot merch. Cotton was an @outlandtrophy Player of the Week last year.
Morgan Scalley's got some @outlandtrophy history on his side replacing his entire offensive line at @Utah_Football. "I'm excited for this group, first and foremost because they've got an unbelievable teacher in Jordan Gross, a guy that's done it at the highest level but is an amazing teacher. And the development of those guys has been awesome. I think you saw that firsthand in the bowl game against Nebraska. The majority of those guys were not starters at the beginning of the season.
"Those were the guys that you're going to see come the season. I love the story of those guys that have been waiting their turn, that have been grinding and getting the work in and finally have that opportunity, and now it's time."
Gross was one of three Outland Trophy finalists in 2002 at Utah. Washington State's Ryan Long won it that year.
