Today is the day you can uncork my new book, Oz Clarke's Story of Wine: 8000 Years, 100 Bottles.
Out in hardback, ebook, and, narrated by me for the first time ever, in audiobook, for you to savour and enjoy 🍷

May and I are cycling round the Midlands with Armonico Consort raising money for Dementia Homes. We’re singing in them too- James and I holding up a fairly dodgy bass line and mastering ‘Do the Wang’. Then it’s pints of foaming ale, old and filthy red and spam’n beans de luxe.Yum
Harvest Heaven at Sandridge Barton in Devon. We’re there on the Oz and Tom’s English Wine Heroes filming tour and I’ve just tasted my first Pinot Noir juice of 2026. Fab!!! So sweet and scented. Now, if the Gods of the grape will just grant us a few more days of clear blue skies

A 20 year vertical of Hunting Hill from New Zealand’s greatest Chardonnay producer - Kumeu River. This was hosted by Steve Browett, Kumeu’s most devoted fan worldwide and showed that a great site and a passionate family caring for it are at the heart of the world’s finest wines
@ozclarke Magnificent. I was just leaving drinks tonight when a bottle of Kumeu River was getting cracked open 😢. Will give the winery an even more enthusiastic wave as I pass on the way to golf in the morning. We forget how lucky we are in Auckland - this is world class stuff!

A brief though risky stop in the middle of my Charity bike ride with Armonico Consort to raise money to put live music into Dementia Homes. We sing concerts in the homes as we bike - and by God it makes a difference to their lives. Some of these hills need grappling irons.Thirsty
@ozclarke Just donated Oz. Great cause. You will be sore at the end, but enjoy the ride.
Here is the link for anyone else that would like to donate…

Well, this is what I’ve been up to this scorching week - recording the audio book of A Vine is a Wild Thing with the mighty Santi at Rear Window Studios. You’ll be able to hear the whole book - recorded in my lived-in, gravelly voice in the autumn. I think you’ll like it
Shocking, distressing news about Matthew Jukes. He was a great guy as a friend and a great family guy. And a force of nature in wine. When he set his mind on a region or style he would take it by the scruff of the neck and pursue it with a passion and commitment like no one else
