Starting @PublicAllies Chicago was the best job I ever had – formative and fulfilling, it was a daily reminder of the power and opportunity I had to create real change. I loved seeing that same spark in the young leaders I met in San Jose. We’ll hear from them again soon.
Instead, they often see their world crumbling. Nonetheless, it's important to recognize that a brighter and better tomorrow inevitably awaits, offering us valuable insights into our journey.

For some, it's challenging to look past the difficulties in their lives– to see the light at the end of the metaphorical tunnel.
Language changes lives. Even as words motivate many, we also need to see those words in action. As John F. Kennedy said, "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

The power of words is real. It's important to manifest and speak things into existence because "no matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world," Robin Williams.

Meet Monique Gaston, a Public Allies Chicago alum!
In this clip Monique shares how Public Allies and her placement, Greater Auburn-Gresham Development Corporation (GAGDC), gave her the necessary tools to be better.
GAGDC gave her guidance with future possibilities and resulted in her going back to school and receiving a Masters in Youth Development.

Sometimes it is up to us to lead and blaze a trail that no one else has taken. It can be a scary thought to try something that has never been done before, but if not us, then potentially no one else will take the plunge.
