Annual Festival of Eritreans in Italy held on 29th & 30th June this weekend. FM Osman Saleh addressed participants on progress of peace process, regional issues & domestic development priorities. Two-day event featured cultural shows, photo exhibition/ miscellaneous programmes.

"Asmara Marathon" - fielding over 60 athletes from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan & Tanzania - was held today in the streets of the capital. Eritrea's Mehari Tsegai won the race. Eritrean women athletes also competed in a half-marathon concurrent race.

President Isaias Afwerki returned home at midday today after his visit to Egypt. Expansion of bilateral ties, continental & other issues of mutual concern, and, the situation in the Sudan were the major themes discussed during the two day visit.
