They call it gossip. We call it power.
In Kenya, women have always gathered - in Chamas, in markets, in salons - and talked. About their children. Their landlords. The broken water pump. The chief who never shows up.
The world dismisses it as just "gossip." It never is.
It is the most trusted form of civic communication in communities where formal institutions have failed.
We call it #TransformativeGossip

Team PAWA, in partnership with Ngong Social Justice and Environment Centre, recently held a community dialogue on ecological justice for Oloolua Forest as part of our #RITAI project.
The forum focused on emerging developments in the area, with community members citing concerns on the planned fencing. This dialogue brought together local community members, government officials, development partners and other stakeholders to table their concerns.
Forums like this are important in creating open dialogue, transparency, and inclusion in community-led initiatives.

Why Baddies kwa Ballot? 💋🗳️
Because too many of us are still not registered to vote, and that has consequences.
When we don't register, we are not likely to vote.
And when we don't vote, we are not likely to be prioritized.
