West Technical Education Center in Belle Glade recently celebrated 53 adult graduates completing the 2026 Pre-Apprenticeship Program in Welding, HVAC, and Electrical.
In partnership with Florida Training Services, LLC, this tuition-free program equips participants with skills for high-demand industries.
The best part? Thanks to a generous investment, each graduate walked away with a trade-specific professional toolset valued at $1,000 to launch their careers!

We are so excited to share how several schools leveled up their learning, after receiving Florida Power & Light STEM classroom makeover grants!
Pine Jog Elementary School, Banyan Creek Elementary, Westward Elementary, L.C. Swain Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School, WPB show us the new, hands-on experiences for their students, thanks to this generous partnership.
From coding autonomous robots, to harvesting fresh produce from the garden, and launching competitive E-sports programs, these students are gaining the skills they need for their future. ๐ค

Congratulations to Stella Gillam, a sixth grade student at Independence Middle School in Jupiter, for winning state-wide recognition for her essay called, "Free Fallin Into History."
The Florida Department of Education hosted the America250FL Essay and Art Contest. Students were invited to submit their work based on the theme, "celebrating Florida's contributions to America."
We are so proud to celebrate Stella for being one of only eight middle and high school winners from across the state. She received a 2-year Florida College Plan scholarship. Great work Stella!
