Introducing the Coach's Column. All winter, you'll hear directly from the coaches inside the MHSAA, in their own words, nothing watered down.

We're kicking it off with one of the best to ever do it, MHSAA legend Dan Cimini of De La Salle. The line he repeats to every player isn't his. He heard Dante Nori say it in 2024: "If it doesn't help me get better at baseball, I'm not doing it." Nori went in the first round that summer.

In this one, Cimini gets into what he wishes every parent understood, what he's really looking for at tryouts, and the rule he'd change tomorrow. Full column on the CWB Patreon, link in bio.

Last outing of the summer: 5 IP, 5 Ks. Sat 81–83 mph and held that velocity throughout the outing. The slider was working, generated plenty of weak contact, and trusted my defense to make plays.

Threw 5IP complete game on Saturday. Generated lots of weak contact and allowed 2 earned runs. Started off slow by giving up a few free bases, but made some adjustments and found a good rhythm trusting my defense.
