PJM has issued a Hot Weather Alert for its Western Region for June 29 and a Hot Weather Alert for the entire region PJM serves for June 30 to July 3 ahead of an expected prolonged period of 90+ degree weather.

A Hot Weather Alert is an established procedure PJM issues ahead of forecasted hot weather and/or high humidity to prepare transmission and generation personnel and facilities for expected increases in electricity demand, or load.
PJM today announced the retirement of Craig Glazer, Vice President – Federal Government Policy, effective December 2026.
Glazer served on PJM’s Executive Team for 26 years during a period when PJM more than doubled in size and added new markets and planning responsibilities. He has held key leadership roles at PJM, focusing during his tenure on regulatory and legislative policies before Congress, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the United States Department of Energy and other federal and state agencies.

PJM’s Governmental and Member Services team joined energy, utility and regulatory industry leaders last week in Columbus for the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners 31st Annual Education Conference.
Several PJM leaders took part in pertinent discussions across the four day event. Asim Z. Haque participated in a panel on the regulatory and economic hurdles posed by data center expansion and how to balance demand growth with grid reliability. Jason Stanek’s session focused on where new capacity should be added to the system so that transmission expansion planning can be appropriately aligned. Finally, Tim Burdis joined a discussion on integrated resource planning from the perspective of previous experience and future opportunities.
PJM is taking a number of actions to maintain reliability and promote affordability for the 67 million it serves across 13-states and Washington, D.C. amid historic demand growth led by data centers.
