We profiled LKB1/STK11 loss across breast cancer using 4 complementary approaches and found it does far more than flip the AMPK–mTOR switch.
A thread on what we found 🧵👇

Finding 1: LKB1 loss suppresses oestrogen, progesterone, and androgen receptor signalling.
LKB1 is not just a metabolic kinase, it actively supports hormone-responsive transcriptional programs. Losing it reshapes the hormone landscape of the tumour cell.

Not all mutations tell the same story. In our latest work, we distinguish pathogenic from benign variants to better predict benefit from immunotherapy in cancer treatment. https://t.co/bDWZbzepUN
@OdedRechavi Exactly. It is important that we make discoveries available to the greater scientific community, so that they can build/innovate on the work. Having discoveries spend 8-24> months undergoing reviews/revisions, serves very little other than to satisfy the reviewer's power ego.
💨☕👩💻Excited to share our recent discovery. Tumour suppressors LKB1 and SMARCA4 working together to regulate gene expression, acting as a nexus between metabolism and chromatin remodelling. https://t.co/1u7asELKjE
