Interior Secretary Doug Burgum says vandalizing the Reflecting Pool is being treated as an attack on a national monument, with authorities already making seven arrests, issuing multiple citations, and filing 18 police reports tied to damage at the Lincoln Memorial.

Burgum says people have used box cutters to vandalize the Reflecting Pool, damage surrounding grass, and even leave threatening messages aimed at President Trump.

"President Trump came to D.C. to drain the swamp... Some of these folks are trying to bring it back. It's crazy."
