The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office Lahore filed a complaint with NCCIA Lahore against individuals allegedly involved in the illegal sale of confidential telecom subscriber information, including Call Detail Records (CDRs), subscriber details, location data, and IMEI records.
Acting on the complaint, NCCIA apprehended three individuals during an enforcement operation. Five mobile phones, eight BVS devices, and 43 suspicious SIMs were recovered.
Analysis of the seized devices revealed WhatsApp communications related to the unauthorized sale of subscriber data, CDR files, IMEI and subscriber information, fingerprint and CNIC records, and evidence of financial transactions linked to the illegal activity.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office Lahore, in coordination with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), has taken action against the illegal trade of activated SIMs. Acting on PTA’s complaint, NCCIA apprehended a female suspect in Sahiwal allegedly involved in the bulk sale of illegally activated SIMs.
A total of 329 illegally activated SIMs were recovered, including 176 Jazz, 83 Ufone, 66 Zong, and 4 Telenor SIMs. Initial investigation revealed evidence of bulk SIM trading and their distribution to different cities. An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
