Most LLMs need to load an essay of text just to conclude “yes” or “no.”

If a step only needs to route a ticket, tag an intent, or flag a policy violation, sending it through a large generative LLM to produce JSON is overhead.

It's a pleasure for me to be building an AI developer community in Waterloo, a place I grew up around.

Last night, https://t.co/tmyNAArLrS and @TheBarnWaterloo @jrodgers hosted a social and "ships for kicks" night on a Friday in August and the builder vibe was ripe with innovation and talent.

The aura of the 40 or so people that attended was impressive.

From the curious to the experienced, seeing builders discovering Devin's evolving stack and showing them how to use features that amazed them, made me proud to be an ambassador.

A few features that they were truly amazed by:

- SWE 1.7 speed, and quality vs cost (Free!)
- MacOS containers being spun up in seconds
- Breadth of LLMs offered (From Deepseek, to Fable)
- Option for local and cloud agent sessions
