Everyone assumes a hostel chain is a real estate business. Or a hospitality business. After 12 years and around 4,000 beds, the hardest thing we ever had to build was none of those. It was software. And not for the reason you would guess. 🧵

Here is the honest part. Some nights that same software fails, and someone is standing outside their room at 2am because the app will not open the lock. That is on us, not on them. We are still fixing it.

This is a big part of why so much of India stays unbranded. The demand is there. The ideas are there. What is missing is a system that makes building easy where the jobs are needed most. If you have built anything physical in a small Indian town, how did you get through it?
