A Democratic sweep in the midterms won’t magically fix everything overnight. But between Trump entering lame-duck territory and Democrats gaining the subpoena power to check his corruption, the fever will finally start to break. It’s a long road back, but this is where the turnaround begins.
This Forbes investigation is a must-read.
Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million.
He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort.
A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill.

BAIER: Millions of Michiganders have private insurance… Will you tell them today that their plans are going away?
EL-SAYED: No, I don't want to take away anything. It’s about providing healthcare for everybody. It’s like saying because you have public schools, you can’t have private schools. I’m fine with people keeping their private insurance if that’s what they want.
Republicans control every branch of government and what did they give you?
Higher gas prices.
Higher cost of living.
Higher healthcare costs.
Higher inflation.
Shout out to @getnickwright! He just gave Angel Reese a fantastic spotlight on @FTFonFS1 in a segment calling out the media. It’s my fave sports show because it’s very funny, so I was delighted to see this pop up today! #WNBAFinals
BREAKING: A GOP senator asked for anonymity to reveal that "everyone in Congress knows Trump's second term is a disaster," but 1/3 of Republicans are grifting his supporters, 1/3 are afraid of Trump ending their careers, and 1/3 are afraid his cult is a danger to their families.
Neil Bush: “I see in [James Talarico] the qualities I admire most in public servants: integrity, civility, humility, and a willingness to listen to those with whom he disagrees. My impression is that he is a principled, pragmatic leader who understands that public office is a responsibility to serve, not an entitlement to power.”
🚨🚨BREAKING: Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, says a Tennessee voting machine repeatedly switched her selection to Republican Marsha Blackburn, forcing her to correct her ballot THREE TIMES before voting. She’s not alone. Other Tennessee voters have reported similar problems while attempting to vote for Democrats.
What is going on in Texas? The current Texas Agriculture Commissioner said he voted for a Democrat for the first time in his life and that Abbott “needs to go”. This is absolutely wild.
My rule of thumb is if I see something three times from three completely different sources, I’ll post it. Whether it’s been confirmed or not. This is the third time I’ve seen this. The second was Dolly Parton’s sister. Have they actually rigged the machines?
