Really proud to have reopened a General Enquiries phone line and from next week a dedicated place for people to come and talk to someone about Council issues. They should never have been closed.
Labour closed Harrow Council’s face to face contact centre and the general enquiries phone line. We are proud to have reopened the phone line and a new face to face resident contact centre will soon be opening in Gayton Road. We are making the council more contactable.

Great to show Party Chairman @kevinhollinrake Harrow West and Harrow East tonight. He spoke with residents & heard how we are helping them with 1 hour free parking, record investment in fixing our roads & reopening phone lines and face to face contact that was closed by Labour.
In Harrow Labour have no plan, no vision and no idea what to do. I know we still have much more to do but we are making progress and have a clear vision of how to restore pride in Harrow.
If Reform is a genuinely democratic force confident of popular backing, why don’t Jenrick, Kruger etc seek the consent of voters in by-elections?
Farage once saw this as a point of democratic principle. So what’s changed?
@RossLydall The only threat was from Labour. Any significant change would require primary legislation from a Labour Government and any change at all needs a two thirds majority on a Labour dominated London Councils committee.
Labour chair the Transport and Environment Committee, have an overwhelming majority on it and on London Councils more generally. I don’t think there was ever a serious suggestion about restricting the Freedom Pass in the ways outlined in reports including the @theLDNstandard exclusive. Labour not correcting the wording and approving the report has caused this concern among Freedom Pass users. They should apologise to Freedom Pass Holders rather than making cheap political points.
When Labour ran @harrow_council they closed down the phone lines and made it impossible to see or speak to anyone. We have reopened the phone lines and early in the new year we will have a face to face service available once again. #PuttingResidentsFirst
Harrow’s general enquiries phoneline latest performance stats 👇
In September we reopened the Council’s general enquiries phoneline, making it easier for residents to contact the Council when they had an issue. Labour chose to close the phoneline when they last ran the Council.
You told us, we listened and delivered on the things important to you.
There's still lots more to do and we'll continue our work to restore pride in Harrow and put residents first.
In next year’s budget we will be investing an extra £223,000 into Harrow’s street cleaning team. This will employ more street cleaners as well as funding new machinery to deep clean pavements in our town centres and high streets.
2025 recap
From bins, clean streets, reopening our phone line, and fixing our roads, to support those in need, & tackling ASB - some of the hundreds of services delivered every day
Thanks to everyone incl. our partners and residents who are helping us restore pride in Harrow
I know there is much more to do to catch up on the backlog we had inherited but we are continuing to make progress and are accelerating the programme pulling forward £2million to get more roads resurfaced.
Bringing Harrow’s roads up to a good standard is a key focus for the Conservative Council. Since 2022 we have increased highways investment, repairing record numbers of potholes & resurfacing over 170 roads. This is progress but there is still more to be done.
