We need price controls, not price increases, on petrol and diesel in a cost of living crisis.
The Dáil must now be recalled to stop the 1 September increase.
The Affordable Ireland Campaign protest at 1pm Parnell Square Sat 19 September needs to be massive.
People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy told the Dáil that today, 30 June 2026, "should go down as the day of the bonfire of our climate targets".

Ivana Bacik proposal to SocDems and Greens to come together to negotiate with FF/FG is simply an invitation to repeat the same old mistakes of Labour.
It would be a disaster. People want rid of FF/FG, not to prop them up.
All on left should rule out coalition with FF/FG.
3/3 Cuirimid fáilte freisin roimh phlean Gaeilge @pb4p, ina bhfuil moltaí láidre maidir le tithíocht sa Ghaeltacht, oideachas trí mheán na Gaeilge, & maoiniú ann. https://t.co/lL3upYWh9L
The government survived the No confidence vote because some supposed "independents" disgracefully propped them up. But protests have impacted. A mass movement of workers, unions & communities can force the action needed to seriously address the cost of living and housing misery.
By any definition, the US and Israel are guilty of a criminal, terrorist act in launching a military assault on Iran. It is a flagrant violation of International law and all the Taoiseach can do is to express "concern." This criminal warmongering should be condemned outright.
The protests of school communities across the country and the threat of protests escalating further forced this welcome climb-down by the Government. Well done to the SNA's, parents, teachers and principals who refused to accept these devastating cuts to our children's education
The Stardust families have been insulted yet again. Survivors were not consulted and instead learned through the media of a one-size-fits-all €20,000 scheme, something they have warned against for years. They deserve a victim-led approach not one-size-fits-all payments.
In 2022 Poland rightly refused to play against Russia, 🇨🇿 🇸🇪 joined them and bans from UEFA and Fifa followed
Let's push for same here - boycott israel, demand their expulsion from international competition ⚽️

41% of all young people under the age of 35 live at home because of Fianna Fáil but here’s a consolation voucher to spend in the dwindling number of cultural spaces they haven’t already let die.
Remember: The Complex was promised jack chambers’ help but he did nothing in the end
Last year, we promised an update on the Culture Card for young people, and here it is!
The plan is simple: every 18-year-old in Ireland will receive a card preloaded with €100 to spend on live sporting or cultural events.
We’re opening the doors for a new generation.
Michael Healy-Rae fast asleep when called upon to vote on the Rent Hikes Bill.
Boxer Moran had to give him a nudge to wake him up.
Probably dreaming of all the extra rent he's going to make as a result.
The government is about to throw tenants to the wolves and open the door to massive rent hikes. We’re saying enough is enough.
Protest this Wednesday outside the Dáil at 5:30pm to oppose this bill.
Great to launch the Affordable Ireland Campaign today.
Join the National Protest on Saturday February 28th in Dublin with a first focus on an Emergency Winter Payment and a cost of disability payment.
We need an #AffordableIreland not #RipOffRepublic
Government is ramming a rent hike bill through the Dáil that will throw renters to the wolves.
This bill opens the door to brutal “market rent resets” that will drive up rents by up to 40%. An outright attack on working-class people already drowning in extortionate rents.
For years now, we've been chasing Irish Water to invest and fix this, but they haven't so far.
It's horrendous that every time there's heavy rainfall sewage overflows and runs into the Dodder and people's gardens.
The community knows what's going on. We need it fixed asap.
Very disappointing from the SocDems. Boycott the Whitehouse was the right call under Biden, the call is even stronger now - Gaza, Venezuela, ICE's racist terror campaign, Epstein files, the list goes on...
The strongest possible message that can be sent is a boycott!>
Working people are being crushed by this government while they hand hundreds of millions in giveaway tax breaks to the most profitable and wealthy businesses in the country. It’s a transfer of your wealth as the taxpayer to the richest in our society.
New govt rental laws will push rents even higher. Half of the average workers’ take-home pay already goes on rent. The government need a serious wake-up call to show them exactly how angry and desperate people feel because of their landlords-first agenda.
