The Eastern Regional @PeaceCouncilGH (ERPC) engaged approximately 150 students of Okorase Methodist JHS A under the Safe School Project: Understanding Conflict and Violence Prevention.
The sensitization focused on the causes, forms, and consequences of conflict and violence, while equipping students with practical strategies for peaceful conflict resolution and violence prevention.
Mr. Osmond Appiah Danquah, Senior Programs Manager at ERPC, highlighted that while conflict is a normal part of human interaction, it can escalate into violence when not properly managed. He encouraged students to embrace dialogue, tolerance, mutual respect, and to seek guidance from teachers and school authorities when resolving disagreements.
The engagement also emphasized the importance of discipline, responsible behaviour, and peaceful coexistence in creating safe and conducive learning environments.
Together, we are nurturing a generation of peace ambassadors. ποΈ

The Ashanti Regional @PeaceCouncilGH together with the Small Arms and Light Weapons Commission (SALW), sensitized teachers and non-teaching staff of Fomena T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS on violence prevention, Act 999, and the dangers of illegal arms possession.
The engagement highlighted the role of educators in promoting discipline, peaceful coexistence, and early intervention in student conflicts.
Staff were encouraged to champion non-violent approaches to conflict resolution and support peacebuilding initiatives within their schools and communities.

The discussion highlighted the role of families, schools, religious bodies, and communities in nurturing responsible and peaceful citizens. Young people were encouraged to embrace dialogue, tolerance, and positive values while rejecting violence, misinformation, and drug abuse.
Dr. Charles Ohene Amoh further stressed the responsible use of social media and the importance of verifying information before sharing to protect social harmony.
