McNeil(L): It was a public safety issue and became govt's responsibility. We will take every step to recover the cost.
Burrill(NDP): in 2007 the Premier said essential services legislation doesn't work and collective bargaining does. Was he wrong back then?
McNeil(L): Patients deserve to know they'll get care when they need it. So do victims of crime.

Burrill(NDP): expert labour lawyer says essential services legislation is denial of right to strike. Why do you ignore this expert testimony?
McNeil(L): The expert and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to collective bargaining.
Burrill(NDP): SCC justices have ruled that prohibiting strikes for essential services is unconstitutional. Why does Premier think he knows better?
McNeil(L): I have to be responsible to the taxpayers. Workers will have right to protest but must provide essential services.

Houston(PC): After his conduct toward Crowns this week, how does the AG plan to repair relationship with Crowns?
McNeil(L): a 17% pay-raise is unsustainable. That's the reality.

Furey(L): Officers are valuable, do a hard job. They have access to all services w/i health plan. We work closely with their labor rep, constant discussion.

Furey(L): Yes. It is proven to be the best practice. Officers have done admirable job in transitioning.

Leblanc(NDP): Some people couldnt vote this election, get groceries, etc. bc of housing situation. Will the Min. acknowledge extreme housing issue in the province?
Porter(L): Signed a 10yr deal with feds for money for housing stock and other needs.
Leblac(NDP): Firs three years of deal will only repairs housing: not create supply. People can't afford vacancy rate. Can Min. recognise his gov't is turning housing crisis to homelessness crisis?
Porter(L): We are moving forward with Fed agreement and working to do more.
Masland(PC): Why was no notice given to Pictonians until after the inmate was back in prison?
Furey(L): We released circumstances as soon as we were able to confirm them.

Furey(L): There are processes/prcedures in place that can be confusing at time. They have been reviewed to make sure this never happens again.

Masland(PC): For MOJ, why is the inquiry into Lionel Desmond case limiting legal prep time and paying so little?
Furey(L): Circumstances are before the presiding judge.
Masland(PC): Bc the gov't may be found liable for the tragedy, isn't it a conflict of interest for the gov't to be constraining the inquiry?
Furey(L): I can't interfere with the established process. It is the responsibility of the judge.
